686 Project goes for recycled outerwear with style

Our good friend and manager of our Italian Distribution network, Alessio Gualtiari was one of several selected artists to partake in the 686 Reclaim Project.  The jackets they made are entirely composed of recycled materials.  To be quite honest, these jackets look plenty awesome no matter where they got that fabric from.  Big props to 686 for putting ingenuity to the test.

Korea Redefines STEEZY Snow Gear

Boombotix here reporting live from Seoul Korea where apparently a high density of swagger is erupting in their snow sport community.  We ran into a shop called S.T.L., which is a brand based out of Korea.  They had a pretty extensive line of clothing in a huge assortment of colors and patterns.  Their gear was seriously unlike anything we’ve seen stateside, so the temptation to splurge on some of it to get a completely unique garment was almost unbearable.

You will have to forgive some of their website’s marketing and bear in mind that they are marketing to an entirely different culture.  Their culture might not be so enamored by having the top athletes under their line, but rather they just settle for good old superficial values.

The price points on their clothes are pretty reasonable, although we really didn’t get the opportunity to gauge performance.  The “fit” is a little different with the arms being a bit more fitted, which seemed a tad constrictive.  They did have a nice collection of Tall Tee Hoodies that had a great fit to them.  If you get anything from this company, get XL and don’t think twice.

Occupy WHAT

Occupy Wall Street
September 17, 2011 – present

Occupy what? Who doesn’t know about Occupy Wall Street? It is the growing occupation movement happening on Wall Street and around the world. It began on September 17, 2011 in Liberty Square in Manhattan’s Financial District. The movement has spread to all over the United States and cities around the world. The video above was filmed by Alex Mallis and Lily Henderson. It gives us an inside look of OWS. Although the protesters are from different states different countries, they all have the one same dream. “OWS is fighting back against the corrosive power of major banks and multinational corporations over the democratic process, and the role of Wall Street in creating an economic collapse that has caused the greatest recession in generations.” (OccupyWallSt.org)

So what else is in OSW? Actually it’s interesting to see what people’re wearing in OSW. Liberty Square probably is a “fashion landmark” recently. You might find all kind of styles there, even more than the runway. Forget about those brand names and trends, they dress as who they really are. They speak up their minds and fight for their rights. Check out Hot Chicks of Occupy Wall Street below and get more ideas.
